About the bookBlink is the brilliant debut poetry collection by American poet Linda Adelia Powers. Linda Adelia Powers writes poetry that is thoughtful, direct and attentive to our shared experience of the world. Her poems focus on moments of awareness and epiphany, uncertainty and doubt, and personal reflection. Inside you will find poems that deftly shift between everyday life and the bigger questions we all ask about time, existence and meaning. In BLINK, Powers draws on her knowledge and love of art, music, nature and human relationships in a way that draws us in, yetallows each of us to determine our own answers to deep questions. Her language is clear and uncluttered, allowing ideas to unfold at their own pace. Silence, pauses, and words left unsaid are as important as what actually appears on the pages.BLINK invites us to slow down and take in our surroundings. It speaks to the shared experience of trying to understand ourselves and the world around us with open and enquiring minds. Quietly engaging and beautifully observed, these poems will appeal to readers who appreciate and value poetry that is honest and reflective, and that is grounded in genuine lived experiences.About the authorLinda Adelia Powers resides on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia. She taught philosophy at the University of Richmond for many years as an adjunct professor, where she her interests focused on ordinary language philosophy, ethics and aesthetics. Always drawn to painting and sculpture, she has maintained several studios and has exhibited in numerous shows. She has written and performed poetry since high school and in college was selected Poet of the Month by the Book of the Month Club. Her poems have appeared in several anthologies published by Wheelsong Books. Two years of solo travel after graduate school in Africa, Europe, and overland to India have enduringly influenced her worldview and art. Read more
